World Series of Fighting officials Monday announced a change to the WSOF 7 undercard, as Ryan Dickson will replace an injured Ryan Chiappe against Marcus Vinicios at the Dec. 7 event.
WSOF 7 marks the organization’s Canadian debut and takes place at the PNE Agrodome in Vancouver, British Columbia. The evening’s main card is headlined by a featherweight title tilt pitting Georgi Karakhanyan against Lance Palmer and airs live on NBC Sports Network, while the undercard streams live and free on Sherdog.com.
Dickson, 24, has tasted defeat just once in seven pro outings. The testicular cancer survivor suffered his first career setback in May, when he was outpointed by Alex Garcia under the Quebec-based Challenge MMA banner. The Canadian rebounded from the loss, however, finishing Advin Omic with a second-round rear-naked choke this past September to score the fifth submission win of his career.
A capoeira practitioner, Vinicios has traded wins and losses in his last four bouts. The nine-year pro kicked off 2013 with a victory in the now-defunct Aggression Fighting Championship, which WSOF acquired last month before announcing the launch of WSOF Canada. “Ossoduro” was victorious in his July 12 outing, scoring a first-round submission over Dia Grant at AFC 20.
