Wanderlei Silva will be in attendance for Bellator 131, as well as during a pre-fight Bellator MMA event with other mixed martial arts legends.
The Scott Coker-led promotion made the announcement via press release on Monday.
Bellator 131 will emanate from Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, Calif., on Nov. 15. The card is headlined by Tito Ortiz versus Stephan Bonnar, and also features a co-main event rematch pitting Michael Chandler against Will Brooks for the Bellator lightweight title.
Much like the promotion’s “Fan Fest” earlier this month, Bellator is again hosting Royce Gracie, Randy Couture, Frank Shamrock, and now Silva, at a Dave and Buster’s location in an opportunity for fans to meet some of the biggest names in MMA history.
“After we saw just an overwhelming response to our Bellator Fan Fest a few weeks ago, we wanted to once again give our fans a chance to be a part of something special and give everyone the opportunity to spend time with a group of fighters that built the sport we all love,” Bellator President Scott Coker said via press release. “We have events taking place all week around the San Diego area as we prepare for the biggest night of fights in company history, and we want everyone to be a part of it.”
Silva was most recently in the headlines following his abrupt retirement from Ultimate Fighting Championship and subsequent lifetime ban from the Nevada Athletic Commission following avoiding a drug test prior to his scheduled UFC 175 bout against Chael Sonnen.
