Weekend Fight Odds: Chael Sonnen, Matt Mitrione Slight Favorites at Bellator NYC

This weekend will be loaded with all sorts of caged mayhem as the world’s two biggest MMA promotions will be hosting events, both of which will be overflowing with intriguing matchups. On Saturday night, Bellator will put on its biggest event ever as the promotion will take over Madison Square Garden in New York for the first time. Then on Sunday, the UFC will invade Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City with UFC Fight Night 112.

With so many bouts to watch, it’s always great to have a seemingly endless supply of possible wagers at one’s fingertips. With some of the biggest names in the sport set to be in action, a savvy bettor can rake in some extra dough for wagering intelligently via the myriad sportsbooks that are available.

MMA villain Chael Sonnen will finally fight arch rival Wanderlei Silva in the main event of Bellator 180 on Saturday, and the American sits as a slight betting favorite at -150. Silva, meanwhile, is in the rare underdog spot at +120.

Longtime Pride emperor Fedor Emelianenko will collide with former UFC veteran Matt Mitrione and the fight is nearly a pick ‘em with Mitrione barely a favorite at -120 to Emelianenko’s -110. Lightweight champion Michael Chandler, though, is a hefty favorite at -800 over unbeaten contender Brent Primus, who rests at +500.

On the UFC side, Kevin Lee is sitting as a -140 favorite over bitter rival Michael Chiesa. The two headline UFC Fight Night 112 and came to blows at a press conference several weeks ago. Chiesa currently stands as a slight underdog at +110.

UFC legend B.J. Penn will be in action as well, but “The Prodigy” is a somewhat shocking underdog to Dennis Siver. The Hawaiian stands firm at +170 while Siver, from Germany, is a -210 favorite.
