Weekend Fight Odds: Shevchenko Slight Favorite in Rematch vs. Nunes in UFC 215 Headliner

Although she lost a decision to the champion in their first meeting, challenger Valentina Shevchenko is favored to defeat Amanda Nunes in their rematch at UFC 215 on Saturday. According to odds provided by Bovada, Shevchenko is listed as a slight favorite (-135) ahead of their bout at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. Nunes, meanwhile, is +105 heading into her second women’s bantamweight title defense.

Odds also favor the fight going longer, as the five-round championship bout going over 2.5 rounds is listed at -145 and is +105 for less than 2.5 rounds. In terms of method of victory, bettors can get 3-to-1 odds that “Bullet” wins some type of decision. The odds of Nunes, who has won four of her last five contests inside of a round, earning a KO or TKO triumph are currently 7-to-2.

Nunes and Shevchenko were originally scheduled to meet at UFC 213, but Nunes withdrew on the day of the fight due to illness. “Lioness” claimed bantamweight gold with a first-round submission of Miesha Tate at UFC 200 before stopping Ronda Rousey in 48 seconds at UFC 207. Shevchenko has garnered a decision triumph over Holly Holm and a submission victory against Julianna Pena since falling to Nunes.
