Welterweight Finalists Lyman Good, Andrey Koreshkov Join Bellator 82 Bill in Michigan

The Bellator Fighting Championships will make its first appearance in The Wolverine State on Nov. 30, when the promotion hosts Bellator 82 from the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort in Mount Pleasant, Mich.

The card will be headlined by a welterweight tournament final matchup between former 170-pound champion Lyman Good and unbeaten Russian prospect Andrey Koreshkov.

The event will also see Season 6 tournament veteran David Rickels collide with undefeated Michigan product Jason Fischer at welterweight, while British standup specialist Michael Page and former Olympic wrestling hopeful Shawn Bunch make their Bellator debuts in a pair of to-be-announced contests.

Good, 27, stands just one victory away from earning another crack at regaining his world title from reigning champion Ben Askren, who lifted the belt from Good two years ago at Bellator 33. “Cyborg” has since won four of his last five fights, advancing to the Season 7 tournament finals by outpointing Jim Wallhead and then finishing Michail Tsarev via technical knockout in their Oct. 26 semifinal pairing.

Koreshkov, meanwhile, has been perfect through his 12-fight pro career thus far, earning a pair of victories to kick off his Bellator stint before joining the Season 7 draw. “Spartan” took home a hard-fought unanimous decision win over Jordan Smith in the Sept. 28 tournament quarterfinals and then demolished Dream champion Marius Zaromskis in the semis, knocking out the Lithuanian in just 2:14 at Bellator 78.
