Jordan Mein will lock horns with Belal Muhammad at UFC 213 on July 8.
The promotion confirmed the welterweight pairing on Thursday following an initial report from the Calgary Herald. UFC 213 takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and is headlined by a women’s bantamweight championship clash between Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko.
Mein has fought once in each of the last two years, losing to Thiago Alves via second-round KO at UFC 183 in 2015 and dropping a unanimous verdict against Emil Weber Meek at UFC 206 in 2016. The 27-year-old known as “Young Gun” is 29-11 over the course of his career and owns wins over the likes of Mike Pyle, Evangelista Santos, Joshua Burkman and Joe Riggs, to name a few.
The former Titan FC welterweight champ, Muhammad has gone 2-2 in the Octagon thus far. Most recently, “Remember the Name” earned a unanimous decision triumph against Randy Brown at UFC 208. The Chicago native is 11-2 as a professional overall.
