Welterweights Randy Brown, Erick Montano to Clash at UFC Fight Night in Hidalgo

A welterweight bout between Randy Brown and Erick Montano is set for UFC Fight Night Hidalgo in Hidalgo, Texas, on Sept. 17.

The promotion’s Spanish branch announced the pairing on Wednesday. UFC Fight Night takes place at State Farm Arena and is headlined by a lightweight duel pitting Dustin Poirier against Michael Johnson. The evening’s main card will be televised on Fox Sports 1.

Brown was discovered on Dana White’s “Looking for a Fight” reality show and debuted in the Octagon with a decision win against Matt Dwyer at UFC on Fox 18. In his sophomore outing, “Rude Boy” was submitted in the second stanza by Michael Graves at UFC on Fox 19.

Montano, meanwhile, defeated Enrique Marin via split decision at UFC Fight Night “Magny vs. Gastelum in November to win “The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America” Season 2 welterweight tournament. He is 7-3 as a professional with six wins coming inside the distance.
