Women’s Strawweights, Bantamweights, Men’s Middleweights Invited to ‘TUF 26’ Tryouts
The 26th season of “The Ultimate Fighter” looks like it could
feature Octagon hopefuls from a trio of weight classes.
According to a release from the UFC, the promotion will hold tryouts for women’s strawweights and bantamweights as well as men’s middleweights on May 23 in Las Vegas. The tryouts are open to any fighters between the ages of 21 and 34 who have a winning record and at least three professional fights.
Prospective “TUF” cast members will be required to grapple and hit pads during the proceedings. The athletes will be notified at the end of the day if they have advanced to the next round of the casting process, in which case they will need to stay in Las Vegas until May 27. The application for the show can be viewed here.
“TUF 26” will begin filming in July and will air on Fox Sports 1 later this year. The upcoming season of the reality show, “TUF 25: Redemption” is set to debut on FS1 on April 19 and will see Cody Garbrandt and T.J. Dillashaw serve as opposing coaches.
