World Series of Fighting 2 to Air Live in Spanish on Univision Deportes

The Las Vegas-based World Series of Fighting has signed a deal to broadcast WSOF 2 live on Spanish language sports network Univision Deportes. confirmed the news with a source close to the promotion on Monday night. WSOF 2 takes place March 23 at Revel in Atlantic City, N.J., and is headlined by a heavyweight showdown between former UFC talents Andrei Arlovski and Anthony Johnson. The event airs live in English on NBC Sports Network.

The broadcast marks the first time a live MMA event will air on Univision Deportes, which is owned by Univision Communications. Founded in 1992 and headquartered in New York City, the media company owns multiple properties, including its flagship Univision Network, which was launched in 1962 and is one of the United States’ most watched Spanish-language channels.

Univision Deportes was founded last year and is available through satellite providers Dish Network and DirecTV, as well as AT&T U-verse Internet protocol television. The channel’s programming heavily features soccer and has a Dish Network-exclusive sister network, Univision Deportes 2, which airs replays of live events.
