Las Vegas-based MMA promotion World Series of Fighting has added two bouts to the now-complete main card of WSOF 27.
Headlined by a lightweight battle between Caros Fodor and Mike Ricci, WSOF 27 will feature three unbeaten prospects in the show’s two newest additions. The event at FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tenn., will feature a 155-pound showdown between undefeated Bryce Mitchell and Jorge Medina. In a welterweight skirmish, both Jaleel Willis and Chauncey Foxworth will put their unblemished ledgers on the line.
WSOF 27 will be televised live on NBCSN starting at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT on Jan. 23. The promotion’s first event of 2016 marks its maiden entry into the home of the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies basketball squad.
Mitchell (4-0), who hails from Arkansas, has impressed the MMA world with his slick submission prowess, snagging all four of his professional wins via first-round submission. His foe, Medina (4-2), is no slouch on the mat, either, as he’s snatched three submissions of his own.
Local fighter Willis (5-0) has brutalized the opposition thus far, scoring four first-round stoppages due to ruthless ground-n-pound. Like his counterpart, Foxworth (2-0) has clubbed both of his pro victims in similar fashion, making for an intriguing matchup.
WSOF 27’s main card is rounded out by a light heavyweight tilt between Teddy Holder and Shamil Gamzatov. A full preliminary card will be unveiled soon.
