Six new contests have been added to One Fighting Championship’s May 30 offering, including a bantamweight showdown between Xian Ji and Thanh Vu.
One FC 16 takes place at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore, and is headlined by a welterweight matchup pitting former Bellator MMA ruler Ben Askren against Bakhtiyar Abbasov.
Titled “Honor and Glory,” the event will also see heavyweights Alain Ngalani and Chi Lewis Parry collide, while Singaporean talents Radeem Rahman and Stephen Langdown collide with Raymond Tan and Casey Suire, respectively. Additionally, Nik Harris will lock up with Brad Robinson in a rematch of their 2012 contest.
Ji, 26, has won three of his last four and rides back-to-back wins heading into his One FC debut. “The Executioner” last competed one year ago, when he submitted Agustin Delarmino with a first round armbar to win the Legend bantamweight title.
Vu began his career with three victories in his first four outings but has since lost two straight, suffering a technical knockout to Kevin Belingon one year ago before submitting to a Dae Hwan Kim rear-naked choke this past December at One FC 13.
