Yager Out, Njokuani-Jouban Now Set for May 6 TPF

“Ultimate Fighter” Season 11 competitor Jamie Yager has pulled out of his welterweight bout with Alan Jouban (Pictured) at Tachi Palace Fights 9.

Stepping in to fill the void will be Chidi Njokuani, who will now meet Jouban in Yager's place. Sherdog.com learned of the change on Friday from Tachi Palace Fights representative Jeremy Luchau.

“On such short notice, we are happy to be able to have a fighter of Chidi's caliber compete on our show,” said Luchau. “I think this is a great match-up of two rising welterweight prospects.”

Tachi Palace Fights 9 will go down May 6 from the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino in Lemoore, Calif. The event will feature a bounty of intriguing scraps in the lighter divisions, including a featherweight title fight between Isaac DeJesus and Russ Miura. The undercard will stream live on Sherdog.com.

Njokuani -- the younger brother of current UFC talent Anthony Njokuani -- rides back-to-back victories heading into his late-notice showdown with Jouban. The Janjira Muay Thai representative is a King of the Cage veteran and owns three of his four career wins by knockout.

Jouban made his pro debut at Tachi Palace Fights 8 in February against another famous sibling -- UFC featherweight Tyson Griffin's brother Kyle. Jouban knocked Griffin out with a knee just 15 seconds into their welterweight affair.
