Yoshitaka Naito Defends Against Alex Silva at One's ‘Warriors of the World’ in Bangkok

One Championship’s next trip to Thailand now has a title bout in store.

The Asian MMA outfit announced Monday that its “Warriors of the World” card, scheduled for Dec. 9 will feature a 125-pound “strawweight” title bout between undefeated Japanese champion Yoshitaka Naito and Brazil’s Alex Silva. The event takes place at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.

Naito, 33, is a former Shooto world 114-pound champion, compiling a 12-0 record over his five-year pro career. He made his One debut in May 2016, choking out Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke in the fourth round to take the promotional crown. “Nobita” successfully defended his throne 13 months ago, cinching another rear-naked choke, this time in the third round against Joshua Pacio.

The 35-year-old Silva has fought six of his seven professional fights under the One banner, winning five in a row in the promotion, all via submission. On Nov. 10 at the company’s “Legends of the World,” Silva armbarred previously undefeated Japanese prospect Hayato Suzuki in just 82 seconds.
