Ultimate Fighting Championship, Pride Fighting Championships and Strikeforce veteran Yves Edwards has decided to retire.

The 38-year old walks away from the sport with a professional record of 42-22. Edwards, of Woodlands, Texas, on Sunday evening published a statement on his official Facebook page:

Edwards, once widely-regarded as the sport’s top lightweight, only tasted victory in three of his last 10 fights. He most recently saw action in a first-round submission loss on Nov. 22 at the hands of Akbarh Arreola.
