Leonard Garcia (Pictures) was one of 13 members of an alleged drug trafficking ring arrested Tuesday in Lubbock, Texas, according to a report by local NBC news affiliate KCBD.
The arrests are the product of a four-year investigation into a cocaine ring that reportedly spans from Lubbock to El Paso.
The U.S. District Attorney's Office revealed that the operation seized approximately two kilograms of cocaine in addition to drug trafficking paraphernalia, firearms and an undisclosed sum of money.
KCBD reported that if convicted, an unspecified three of those arrested could face up to 40 years in prison and a $2 million fine, while the others could face up to life in prison and a $4 million fine.
Garcia, 28, perhaps best known for his spirited brawl with
Roger Huerta (Pictures) last April, recently returned to the featherweight division for World Extreme Cagefighting after campaigning in the UFC as a lightweight.
"Bad Boy," as Garcia is known, appeared at No. 6 in the Sherdog.com featherweight rankings after an impressive 91-second stoppage over
Hiroyuki Takaya (Pictures) in February.
