Nelson-Slice Nabs 6.1 Million Viewers

A record-setting 6.1 million viewers tuned in to watch Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson enter the Octagon with Roy Nelson, who earned a second-round technical knockout over the Internet backyard brawler Wednesday on “The Ultimate Fighter 10,” according to a press release from Spike TV.

The fight is now the most watched ever on Spike TV, topping Quinton Jackson and Dan Henderson’s middleweight battle at UFC 75 in September 2007, which garnered 5.9 million viewers. A replay of the episode also gained 1.5 million viewers in the 11 p.m. timeslot.

Overall, the series’ third episode drew 5.3 million viewers for a 3.7 household rating, ranking it the most-watched episode of an original series in the six-year history of the channel, said Spike TV.

The episode topped all male demographics, drawing a 6.9 in Men 18-34 (2 million), a 5.4 in M18-49 (3.1 million), and “drew more Men 18-34 than anything else on television this week thus far, except Monday Night Football on ESPN,” according to Spike TV.

The ratings show a whopping 23 percent rise from the season’s first episode on Sept. 16.
