Rashad Evans (Pictures) will not be fighting at UFC 85 in London on June 7, the UFC announced Wednesday on its Web site.
On Tuesday the promotion announced that
James Irvin (Pictures), Evans' scheduled opponent, had withdrawn from the bout due to a broken foot. However, the UFC said
Luis Arthur Cane (Pictures) would fill in to fight Evans.
Cane had been scheduled to meet
Jason Lambert (Pictures) on the undercard. His bout against Evans was expected to move to the main card, but the UFC has since cancelled the encounter.
Instead, the middleweight bout between Nate Marquardt and
Thales Leites (Pictures) has been added to the pay-per-view portion of the lineup.
