Brett
Rogers’ rise from blue-collar worker to heavyweight prospect
will be one focus of the Showtime 30-minute documentary preview
show “Fight Camp 360°,” which premieres Nov. 3 at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT
on Showtime.
Rogers meets the world’s top-ranked heavyweight, Fedor Emelianenko, at Strikeforce “Fedor vs. Rogers” on Nov. 7 at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, Ill., outside Chicago.
“It’s been fun to share my story,” said Rogers in a release. “I
feel that I am living the American success story. And I hope
that others can take some level of inspiration from it.”
Rogers, a father of four, left his full-time job earlier this year as a tire technician for Sam’s Club in Minnesota to commit himself to the sport. The 28-year-old, undefeated striker said he’s had to grow accustomed to the added attention.
Mike Reilly, Rogers trainer, believes his fighter will surprise many with his improved game.
“We have new wrinkles in training, new sparring partners and sessions,” said Reilly. “With his striking in top form, I can have Brett focus on other facets of the game: grappling, submission defense, throws and kicks. We are coming in from new angles, we found a new range. We have taken conditioning to a new level. Fedor is in for a shock.”

“The first few days the crew was here, it was a bit suffocating,”
said Rogers. “To have them shadow me through my every move, not
just in training, but at home with my family, during meals,
everywhere. After a few days, though, I kind of got used to
it.”
