Matt Wiman vs. Jim Miller
Round 1
The fighters come out swinging and Miller gets the best of the exchange. Wiman drops levels for a takedown and gets caught in a deep Miller guillotine. Referee Mario Yamasaki has to warn Wiman several times to let go of Miller’s trucks, but it goes to no avail and no foul was issued. Miller, after rolling to the mount with the choke, squeezes with all his might but Wiman is able to escape. Miller lands a few punches and gives up the top position with a scramble. The fighters stand and Wiman lands a left hook to the chin. A body kick hurts Wiman. Miller tries to pounce but his opponent is game. Miller gets in a punch before the horn sounds.

Round 2
Again to start a round the fighters come out swinging for the fences. The pace slows quickly and Miller goes back to the body with a kick. Miller pours it on with a punching combination that backs Wiman up to the fence. Miller continues the assault with a punching flurry and a knee. Wiman, showing lots of heart and a solid chin, hangs tough and starts to work from guard following a Miller takedown. Miller strikes effectively from the top position in guard and half-guard. Miller’s round by far.

Round 3
Miller with a punching flurry in the opening seconds. Miller plants his feet and answers back with a left hand and a knee that rough up Wiman. Miller scores a takedown and begins to work from the top in full guard. Miller passes to side-control, where he hits the head until the three-minute mark. Wiman escapes to his feet but is taken straight back down by a single-leg. Wiman takes the top, but the slick Miller transitions onto his back. Miller works for a rear-naked choke but loses position when trying to move to mount. Impressive performance by Jim Miller.

Nate Loughran vs. Tim Credeur
Round 1
Credeur lands some solid leather in the opening minute from the outside. Loughran fails on two trip attempts and eats a few punches for his effort. Credeur throws haymakers from the outside and eats a hard left kick to the body. Credeur continues to throws bombs and he’s landing. Not a jab or a body shot is to be found from the BJJ black belt. At the end of the frame, Credeur throws Loughran to the canvas.

Round 2
Loughran drops levels for a single-leg takedown but ends up on his back. Loughran goes to a rubber guard but he can’t hold Credeur tight. Credeur looks to pass but Loughran shows excellent guard work. From his back, Loughran lands a short right hand that surprises Credeur. Referee Dan Miragliotta stands the fighters up with two minutes remaining in the period. Loughran, bleeding on the hairline on the left side of his face near the ear and eye, starts to eat punishment in the form of Credeur punches. Left and right power punches are finding their target as the round comes to a close.

The fight is called between rounds due to what is being called a rib injury. Tim Credeur is awarded a TKO victory.

Razak Al-Hassan vs. Steve Cantwell
Round 1
Al-Hassan stalks Cantwell around the Octagon with punches and kicks. Al-Hassan stands very tall in the pocket and shows little defense. Despite this, Al-Hassan sneaks in a left hand and a low kick. Cantwell, the more refined striker, counter punches and lands two clean left hands before scoring a takedown. Cantwell quickly passes to side-control. Cantwell takes the mount and elbows the face. Cantwell takes the right arm and secures it within the tight confines of an armbar. Al-Hassan refuses to tap and the scene is ugly as referee Mario Yamasaki steps in to save the Iowan. Al-Hassan’s arm was bent horribly, but thanks to the intervention, he may have escaped serious injury. Or not. Replays shows the elbow pop as the arm was bent nearly 45 degrees in the wrong direction. The official time is 4:04 of the first.

Jonathan Goulet vs. Mike Swick
Round 1
A short right hand drops Goulet to the canvas. Goulet tries to recover with a single leg, but Swick keeps his balance and tees off with hammer strikes and left hands until referee Dan Miragliotta pulls the AKA welterweight off. Goulet is out cold in Miragliotta’s arms at 0:33 of the opening period.

Josh Koscheck vs. Yoshiyuki Yoshida
Round 1
After a feeling out period lasting nearly a minute, Koscheck moves forward with a right hand that misses. Yoshida lands a low kick. The fighters clinch and Koscheck lands four right hooks. On exit from the break, Yoshida lands a right hand. A right hand from Koscheck connects with the ear. An incredible knockout follows. Koscheck connects with a right hand that knocks Yoshida out on his feet. Yoshida’s back makes contact with the fence, which holds him up in perfect range for another right that that puts the Japanese fighter away cold. The result is a contender for knockout of the year. The official time is 2:15 of round one.
