Ring of Fire: Adrenaline
Friday, January 09, 2009
(PRESS RELEASE) -- Ring of Fire, the preeminent mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion in the Southwest, presents ADRENALINE on Saturday, Jan. 10 at the Broomfield Event Center in Broomfield Colorado. Headlining this card is former UFC fighter and TUF (The Ultimate Fighter) season 5 combatant Noah Thomas in a battle for the ROF 135 lb. championship against Justin Robbins. About his opponent, Thomas says, "Justin Robbins is a tough guy and he comes to fight." But Thomas feels very confident in his skills: "I don't think he's going to be able to out-wrestle me or out-grapple me, I don't think he'll be able to stand with me." And while he's not looking past Robbins, Thomas has his eye on the prize: "If I win this fight I feel I deserve a shot at the WEC or any other promotion that are building the 135ers," he said. "I seriously don't think there's anyone bigger, stronger or tougher than me in the 135-pound division."

Taking this fight on short notice, Justin Robbins is a tough-as-nails competitor known for his "never say die" approach to fighting. With a slick submission game, Robbins poses problems for anyone in the 135 lb. weight class. Against Thomas, he is looking to defend the takedown, keep the fight standing, and test his hands. "I don't think he's that weak in anything," Robbins says about Thomas. "He seems to be a pretty well rounded fighter. He hasn't fought the same caliber of opponents that I have, though." With his well-regarded rear-naked choke submission, Robbins is comfortable wherever the fight goes, and with his heart and conditioning, he plans to walk out of the cage with his head held high. His prediction for the end of the fight: "KO."

Also featuring three other ROF title fights, this card is sure to take the Colorado area by storm. The featured card is as follows:
