10th Legion Championship Fighting and Mikey Rukus Enter Partnership

Nov 7, 2012
(PRESS RELEASE) -- UK mixed martial arts promotion 10th Legion Championship Fighting has joined forces with MMA Music producer/artist Mikey Rukus to create music for all of their programming moving forward.

No one can deny the importance of music and MMA working together to add excitement to live shows, help build drama through advertisements, preview trailers and video packages. As recent as the announcement of the UFC working with electronic artist Deadmau5 to create a UFC themed music video for his latest single release, the fusion of music and mixed martial arts has become an integral part of the growth of the sport as we know it. For the promoters, it allows them to reach their demographic through an alternative means. For fighters, it allows them to define themselves as their own personal brand. Mikey Rukus has created theme music for such promotions as Invicta FC, Legacy Fighting Championship and is working on music for the budding promotion CFFC as well as UK based promotion Cage Warriors. Rukus has also created walkout songs for UFC fighters Dennis Hallman, Mark Hunt, Renan Barao, Shogun Rua, Leonard Garcia, Carlo Prater and is currently working on music for Jared Papazian, Riki Fukuda and Eddie Yagin.

The UK's 10th Legion is an organization who has seen rapid growth over the last few years. Headed by personal trainer to many MMA and UK Celebrities, CEO Alan Orr, the promotion has seen rapid expansion and a rise in popularity, landing a TV deal with Sky TV last year. They also stream their events live on Combat Sports Live TV and in a most recent announcement, 10th Legion has landed a with Blackbelt TV, which will finally expose the American fans to the power and grit of the fighters that make up the promotion that is 10th Legion.

Mikey Rukus and 10th Legion are no strangers, as the two have worked side by side many times as the promotion has slowly built a sound library of music over the last couple of years, acquiring music for not only the organization, but for their fighters, their announcer, their web shows and even urging their sponsors to work with Rukus in advertising their own product. Just recently, Mikey Rukus released a brand new theme song for the promotion aptly titled "10th Legion III" http://sclk.co/s72jql. But it is the most recent announcement that proves the direction of not only 10th Legion, but what is sure to become the trend very soon among the MMA industry.

The new deal will consist of the promotion exclusively using Mikey Rukus Music in all of their programming, to include their theme music, music to and from commercials, preview trailers, weigh-in event music and Customized walkout music for its fighters. This is something that has never been done before, and Mikey Rukus believes that when other promotions and fighters see the benefits on how the music actually ties into their product and brand building of the fighters themselves, it is sure to become a rapid growth area within the industry.

"I've always enjoyed working with Alan and 10th Legion. They have always believed in my creativity and have given me that platform from the very beginning, even when I had no client roster. For that I am truly grateful. My goal has always been, and will continue, to be the go-to guy within the industry for Customized Theme Music and Walkout Music for Fighters and Companies worldwide. Once fighters, fans and other promotions see exactly how Mikey Rukus Music ties into 10th Legion programming, I firmly believe other promotions will follow suit, whether they have current TV deals, deals pending, or are preparing their package to shop around, I will be there for them. Brand building in this way is essential for everyone at every level," said Mikey in regards to the new partnership and potential future clients.
