AGGRESSION MMA ANNOUNCES “CONFRONTATION” FOR NEXT EXCITING EVENT

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Aggression MMA, Edmonton’s top fight promotion, today announced its next fight event, “Confrontation,” which will feature a main event between nationally-ranked welterweight stars Ryan “The Real Deal” Ford (14-3) and Nick “Juggernaut” Hinchliffe (18-7). This highly-anticipated event will take place Friday, June 10th, at the Shaw Conference Center in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. “Confrontation” will also showcase two-time world Muay Thai champion Shane “Shaolin” Campbell (4-1), submission wizard Luke Harris (6-1), and the MMA debut of world Muay Thai champion Levi Krupe. More details will be announced shortly.

General admission tickets for “Confrontation” are now on sale, and are priced at $60. Limited floor seats are available for $100, $150, and $200. Tickets are available at www.tnttickets.ca or via email at [email protected]. Fans can also call (780) 426-SOLD.

Due to a venue scheduling conflict, “Confrontation” will not be broadcasted on The Score Television Network as part of The Score Fighting Series, as was its previous event, “Punishment.” The Score is a national specialty television channel providing sports news, information, highlights and live event programming in more than 6.8 million homes across Canada.

Despite the scheduling situation, Aggression MMA decided to hold a show for the benefit of its loyal fighters. “We could have taken the low road and postponed our event until the fall, but we felt we had an obligation to our fans and loyal fighters to follow up our last event with an even more entertaining card,” explained Aggression co-owner Moin Mirza. “We are confident that ‘Confrontation’ is going to be an incredible event.”

A multi-time veteran of The Fight Club, a Canadian fight promotion recently acquired by Aggression, “The Real Deal” has defeated UFC veterans Pete Spratt (twice) and CJ Fernandes, and has faced current Strikeforce combatant Pat “Bam Bam” Healy. Many consider Ford to be the top contender for the spot of Canada’s next breakout welterweight, following in the footsteps of current UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre. With thirteen finishes in his fourteen wins, he is on the cusp of true superstar status, and is hungry to prove that he belongs amongst the elite of the North American fight scene.

“All I gotta say is that Nick better step his game up from his last few fights, cause I’m on a whole different level than any fighter he’s fought,” stated “The Real Deal.” “Everything that I bring to the fight…he won’t be able to handle it. So, bottom line, he ain’t G’d up, so he’s gettin’ beat up.”

Standing in Ford’s way at “Confrontation” will be Nick Hinchliffe, an experienced 170-pounder who has won five of his last seven bouts. He has faced Canadian MMA stars such as current UFC welterweight Rory MacDonald, Kalib Starnes, Travis Galbraith, Victor Valimaki, and Ryan Machan. The Team Impact product was very active in 2010, competing six times. In his last appearance, he defeated Machan via majority decision. He’ll now face Ford with much at stake.

In addition to the aforementioned combatants, “Confrontation” will present regular highlight reel inhabitants Jason Gorny (4-4), UFC veteran Victor “The Matrix” Valamaki (16-8), Steve Beaumont (2-0) and ex-Canadian Football League star, Rio Wells (4-1). The full fight card will be announced shortly.
