ALCHEMIST MMA SIGNS THREE NEW FIGHTERS

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Add rising MMA stars Liz Carmouche, Chad Robichaux, and Mike Hayes to the list of clients represented by MMA powerhouse Alchemist MMA. Over the past week all three were added to the quickly growing roster of clients under their banner.

“It’s a great day for Alchemist MMA,” says President Lex McMahon. “We had been talking with Liz Carmouche before her stunning fight against Marloes Coenen and knew we wanted her to be part of the Alchemist team.”

A former Marine, Liz “Girl-Rilla” Carmouche (5-1 pro record) stunned the MMA world when she stepped up to fight Strikeforce women’s welterweight champion Marloes Coenen, a decorated striker with a 19-4 MMA record on two weeks notice. Carmouche dominated Coenen for the majority of their championship match, even mounting her on the ground twice, before being caught in a triangle choke in the fourth round. It was her first professional loss.

“Liz proved that she’s one of the top five welterweights in the world among female fighters and she deserves an immediate rematch for the title,” says McMahon. “She’s a naturally gifted athlete who dismantled a highly decorated striker that had four times her experience. Everyone wrote her off as a late replacement who Coenen was going to roll through and instead she took the fight to the champ and showed what she’s made of.”

The second of Alchemist’s acquisitions is Professor Chad “Robo” Robichaux, an undefeated bantamweight who has fought in several MMA promotions including Strikeforce. Robichaux recently won the Legacy FC bantamweight championship and on April 16th will make his Bellator debut when he takes on bantamweight champion Zach Machovsky in a non-title fight.

Robichaux, who holds multiple black belts, including a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt from Carlos Gracie Jr., started his MMA career off with an astounding 10 straight wins by submission and won his latest fight by decision over highly touted bantamweight Humberto Deleon at Strikeforce Houston. Robichaux is an instructor and owner of three Gracie Barra schools in Houston, Texas.

Rounding out the new additions for Alchemist is Mike “300” Hayes (15-4-1 pro record), a heavyweight who fights out of Redmond Washington and is currently on a three fight win streak. Hayes’ most notable win was a KO victory over Fabiano Scherner, but it’s his potential that Alchemist is excited about.

“Mike Hayes is a naturally gifted athlete,” says McMahon. “He’s never trained in any form of martial arts or wrestling, but he wins fights any way he wants to; by submission, decision, or KO, he’s a well rounded fighter and hasn’t really tapped into his true potential yet because he’s only taken his MMA training to the professional level in the last year.”
