Legends, the first major mixed martial arts (MMA) event in the
District.

WEIGH IN INFORMATION: The official “Battle of the Legends” weigh-in will be held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in room 140AB on Friday, May 14 from 6-9 p.m. This event is open to the public and will feature appearances by MMA celebrities including Kenny Florian, Demian Maia, Marco Ruas, Mike Swain and more. The Washington Convention Center is easily accessible by Metro on the yellow and green lines (Mt. Vernon Square station). Guests should enter the Convention Center at the L Street entrance.
DETAILS: The “Battle of the Legends” fight card is scheduled to include a total of nine fights along with special appearances by guests well-known in MMA circles. Notable MMA trainer and UFC referee Mario Yamasaki will officiate while his brother, renowned Jiu Jitsu instructor Fernando Yamasaki, will be the official Washington Combat Matchmaker. The event will also feature internationally known Japanese cage announcer Lenne Hardt. An exclusive VIP reception will be held from 6-7p.m for media and special guests. Media are encouraged to arrive early for interview and photo opportunities during the VIP reception.
