Banuelos Returns to Lemoore
Wednesday, September 24, 2008
LEMOORE, CA — Much like former World Extreme Light Heavyweight champion Doug Marshall (Pictures) of Visalia, CA did in July, San Luis Obispo, CA’s Antonio Banuelos (Pictures) (14-5) will make his return to Lemoore.

The bantamweight, is originally from Tulare and became a mainstay in the WEC when it made it’s home at the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino in Lemoore, will make his return Friday at Palace Fighting Championship 10 at the Palace against Georgia’s Bryan Goldsby (4-3).

“I know that he is a tough guy and that it’s going to be an exciting fight,” Banuelos said. “I’m going to fight my fight and get the win.”

This is another gift from the PFC staff to the fans of the Central Valley, as PFC President Christian Printup worked diligently to get a deal worked out for Banuelos to return “home”.

“Banuelos is a guy who is originally a wrestler from Tulare that I believe was transplanted in San Luis Obispo originally for school,” Printup said. “He fought here in the pre-Zuffa days of the WEC and I think it’s special that we can bring him back for the fans.”

Banuelos has had a rough road recently in the WEC, losing two of his last three fights. He most recently lost in February to Manny Tapia (Pictures) (10-0-1) by split decision.

“He’s going to be fighting a tough, hungry kid in Goldsby. This kid is a good wrestler and aggressive striker,” Printup said. “Goldsby has nothing to lose in this fight, as most people don’t know who he is. But this is also a fight, I think, where Banuelos can show he is still one of the best 135 pounders in the World.”

Banuelos is one of the most exciting fighters on the West Coast. He brings an aggressive, fast-paced style into the ring.

“I’ve been training very hard. I’ve been improving on my ground game and to be a well-rounded fighter,” Banuelos said. “I’m stoked and excited to be fighting back in the Central Valley. The 135-pound weight class is by far one of the toughest and most exciting weight classes out there. There is nothing but good things in the future for this division.”
