(PRESS RELEASE) -- We at District Combat Productions would like to formally announce the first ever all-pro, mixed martial arts, eight-fight card, “Battle at the Nation’s Capital”, taking place in Washington D.C. on Dec. 13, 2008. For those of you that are not familiar with mixed martial arts the name explains itself.

Mixed Martial arts is a wide variety of full-contact martial art forms. Some of the dominant martial arts present in MMA are Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, submission wrestling, Muy Thai (Thai kickboxing), boxing, Karate, Taekwondo, Capoeira just to name a few. The typical professional mixed martial artist employs and is versed in multiple disciplines, which he or she uses in a caged ring to out maneuver, submit, or knock out their opponent.

Mixed Martial artists are some of the best-conditioned athletes in the world and come from a wide variety of interesting backgrounds. Although mixed martial arts has been around for decades and decades it is quickly becoming one of the most, if not the most, popular sports in the world!

Battle at the Nation’s Capital will be held at the Washington D.C. Stadium Armory, which is located at 2100 East Capital St. S.E. Washington D.C. 20003. The D.C. Armory is accessible by metro, D.C. Stadium Armory stop, on the orange and blue lines. The fight card has been carefully chosen and will include fighters from:
