CAGE BAN FORCES K-OZ BRAGGING RIGHTS 6 TO BE HELD IN A BOXING RING
Jul 25, 2013 Comments
(PRESS RELEASE) – Perth, Australia (July 25, 2013) – Perth,
Australia After successfully promoting 5 MMA cage fight events
within a year with no major injuries, Western Australia sports
minister Terry Waldron still insists on keeping a ban on the use of
a cage in Western Australia. The ban on using a cage in mixed
martial arts fighting will be enforced for the first time at
Bragging Rights 6 on July 27th. The traditional boxing ring will
have to be used despite countless attempts by Australia’s leading
MMA organization to appeal the WA Sports Minister’s decision.
WA Sports Minister Terry Waldron stated “The Government did not believe it was in the community’s interest to endorse and encourage participation in ‘cage’ fighting”, despite the Professional Combat Sports Commission recommending the octagon-shaped enclosure be retained.

Zealand, New Guinea and neighboring islands in the Pacific Ocean
will all be affected by the recentcage ban. American fighters will
also be affected because K-OZ matches up Australasia fighters with
American Fighters. Jesse
Taylor, Ashe Bowman,
Dave Mazzeny, David Hullet and Briggs
