Cage Fury Fighting Championships Begins 2012 with Two Title Fights!

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) is starting 2012 with a bang when CFFC 13: Gambino vs. Foster hits the boardwalk with two title bouts on February 4th, 2012 at the new Resorts in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The number two ranked prospect in the world and current CFFC Featherweight Champion, Joey Gambino will make his first title defense against Bellator veteran, Kenny Foster.

Gambino is currently riding an eight fight win streak to begin his career and has finished all of his opponents. Training at one of Canada’s premiere MMA gyms, the Tri-Star gym in Montreal, Gambino has learned under the tutelage of great trainers like Firas Zahabi and fighters like current UFC Champion, Georges St. Pierre. With a five round battle ahead of him, Gambino will expect nothing less than another finish.

No stranger to high profile fights, Foster brings the experience of having competed in Bellator four times while compiling a record of 2-2. Overall Foster is 9-4 and has shown that he can win by strikes, submissions, and pace himself to dominate a decisive victory. Foster also trains with an experienced camp in Bombsquad where Ryan Ciotoli has helped the UFC careers of Jon Jones and Christian Morecraft.

Foster will be looking to make a statement in his CFFC debut and put the first blemish on Gambino’s record.

The second title fight will feature CFFC veteran Sean Santella and rising prospect Bryan Lashomb. Santella last saw action when he battled the number two bantam weight prospect in the world and current CFFC champion, Aljamain Sterling in October of 2011. After five grueling rounds, Sterling was awarded the decision and Santella immediately earned the respect and admiration of the crowd. The AMA protégé will drop down to his natural flyweight class.

Known as the “Angry Elf”, Lashomb asked for this fight and comes in to the cage with a perfect 3-0 record including three stoppages. Although his opponent sports an 8-3-1 record, Lashomb has eight amateur fights under his belt with five victories. Coming from Virginia, Lashomb knows he will face a hostile crowd in Santella’s backyard but he hopes to impress the locals and capture a title in his CFFC debut.

The undercard will also be stacked as Philadelphia’s own, Anthony “Cheesesteak” Morrison returns to CFFC! Compiling a record of 16-10, Morrison has fought in the WEC and faced tough competition like current number one contender Chad Mendes and UFC main stay Jim Miller back in 2007 for CFFC.

Morrison will be looking to get back in the win column when he faces Jay Haas. Coming from Hanover, Pennsylvania, Haas is currently 10-7 and has won seven out of his last nine.

In another intriguing match-up, Japan’s Tateki Matsuda takes on rising New Jersey Prospect Claudio Ledesma. Matsuda has a record of 6-2 and was featured on the UFC’s Ultimate Fighter 14 season and also has competed in Bellator.

Ledesma comes into this fight with a 4-2 record and has only lost decisions to Aljamain Sterling and Jimmie Rivera. Daddis Fight Camp instructor and jiu-jistu purple belt, Jackson Galka, will be making his CFFC debut as well. The rest of the card will also feature the returns of CFFC veterans Bradley Desir, who was recently named rookie of the year by www.thefightnerd.com, Michael Wade, and Mike Medrano.

The full card will be announced soon. Limited tickets are available at all TickerMaster outlets.
