Cage Warriors Return To London Oct. 1

(PRESS RELEASE) -- It has been a hectic few months for the Cage
Warriors Fighting Championship, ever since news broke in late July
that one of the UK's oldest and respected Mixed Martial Arts
promotions has been taken over and is under new Management.
Alongside the initial announcement was news that Cage Warriors
would be returning to London where they held their opening two
events back in 2002. To celebrate that fact Cage Warriors has
lined-up three huge international superfights to entertain the
crowd at the popular and luxurious HMV Forum in Kentish Town, North
London.
Headlining this card is an intriguing Striker vs. Wrestler clash for the Cage Warriors Lightweight World Title as defending Champion Kenneth Rosfort-Nees (14-3) takes on the three time UFC veteran Matt Veach (13-2). Rosfort-Nees won the CWFC Title at Cage Warriors 37 'Right to Fight' event in May, when he defeated the Bellator FC and Art of Fighting veteran Greg Loughran by TKO in round 4 of a tactical stand-up encounter which earned rave reviews.
Ranked in the European Top 10 and training out of the Fightcraft
Gym in Copenhagen, Denmark; Rosfort-Nees holds wins over top
European fighters such as the Sengoku veterans Diego Gonzalez and
Jeff Lawson as well as several other top European names. With 9 of
his 14 wins by coming by TKO, Rosfort-Nees has secured a solid
reputation as a dangerous but tactical striker who will be looking
to increase his impressive run of form, which has seen him win 11
out of his last 12 fights.
Whilst his opponent Matt Veach makes his first appearance on UK Soil, and will be looking to make it three straight wins in a row following his release from the UFC back in April. Training out of the HIT Squad in Illinois, USA; Veach started his MMA career with an impressive 11-0 record which saw him snapped-up by the UFC, where he made an immediate impact by defeating Matt Grice on this debut.

Already a well known name in the London circuit having fought almost exclusively there since 2006. Jason Young is known for his sharp stand-up skills and worked his way through the local scene before claiming his first big win and Title at Wembley Arena in July 2008, when he defeated Francis Heagney by Unanimous Decision. Although he lost to the Nova Forca Jiu Jitsu specialist Tim Radcliffe later that year, Young soon returned to winning ways in 2009 when he defeated Jordan Miller via TKO, before impressing against the vastly experienced and former Cage Warriors and Cage Rage champion Abdul Mohammed towards the end of last year.
Since then Young started his 2010 campaign with a loss against the undefeated (and now UFC bound) Liverpudlian Paul Sass back in March, however the Londoner has spent the rest of the year working on his game alongside such talent as the Sengoku veteran Yasubey Enomoto and the UK based trio of Paul “Semtex” Daley, “Slick” Nick Osipczak and Jess “The Joker” Liaudin. Now back fighting in his hometown and making his Cage Warriors debut; Young will be looking to impress in what should be quality Catchweight encounter.

Ranked number 1 in Europe at Featherweight; the Lithuanian holds impressive wins over the former Shooto World Champion Masahiro Oshi, the previously undefeated Finnish fighter Jerry Kvarnstrom, as well as wins over the skilful domestic pairing of John Cullen and Ryan Roddy. Now Grecicho will move-up slightly in weight to face the home town favourite in what could well be a breakthrough fight for the winner.
The final featured bout sees the former Cage Rage British Welterweight Champion Che Mills (10-4-0-1nc) return to action in the UK, as he takes on the American Jake “Hitman” Hecht (7-1-0) from the HIT Squad. Mills is arguably one of the most consistent and impressive UK fighters of modern times having racked-up an impressive 8 bout win streak which saw him overcome the likes of the DREAM Welterweight Champion and now Strikeforce fighter Marius Zaromskis, (Twice), the heavy hitting Ross Mason and UCMMA veteran Edgelson Lua. Although that win streak was ultimately ended by the Bellator contracted fighter “Judo” Jim Wallhead in November of last year, Mills' exploits have also previously seen him selected for the ninth season of the UFC's “The Ultimate Fighter” reality show and has also seen him sign terms with M-1 Global. This deal saw the Trojan Freefighters team member being sent to Japan to participate in the J-Rock promoted ASTRA event. Although Mills stumbled when fighting in those events he soon rebounded in style with a stunning KO win over the well travelled Spaniard Manuel “Manu” Garcia at the end of May in Malaga, Spain. He will now make the trip to the HMV Forum as he prepares to face his first US opponent in a Catchweight contest set at 79.3kg / 175lbs
Jake Hecht is another fighter who lives-up to the event's billing, as this “Young Gun” has been a pro for just over four years and is coming off an impressive 6 bout win streak. Formally a member of the American Top Team, this 26 year old University of Missouri graduate started his career with a bang after scoring a KO win via a Knee at Shooto Americas in February 2006, however he was soon defeated at the AFC in Florida by the more experienced Manuel “Manu” Garcia.
However since that loss Hecht has been a regular on the Midwestern US circuit and has won 6 bouts in a row (with 4 of these wins coming inside the distance). Now under the tutorage of the well respected veteran coach Marc Fiore at the HIT Squad; Hecht is putting the finishing touches to his fight plan for what is arguably the biggest test of his career. With rumours circulating that Hecht is on the verge of breaking into the big time, he will determined to leave the UK with a win, when he faces the dangerous British Welterweight on October 1st.
