Cage Warriors statement regarding Premier Sports CWFC 44 broadcast

Oct 2, 2011
(PRESS RELEASE) -- During the course of last night’s Cage Warriors 44 show at the HMV Forum in London, CWFC officials were made aware of an issue with the live Premier Sports broadcast of the event.

Cage Warriors 44 was due to be free-to-view on the channel from 9pm (UK time). However, several fans contacted us via Twitter and Facebook to voice their disappointment after discovering that Cage Warriors 44 wasn’t, in fact, available to watch for free on Premier Sports.

We are extremely disappointed that this was the case, as it appears to have resulted in many viewers missing out on watching another fantastic live show.

Cage Warriors immediately got in touch with Premier Sports in an attempt to resolve the issue and the free-to-view restriction was eventually lifted by 10.30pm. However, this was too little, too late.

Having investigated why this problem arose, Premier Sports have assured us that a third-party responsible for implementing freeviews on the channel was at fault. Premier Sports have expressed their apologies to Cage Warriors director Graham Boylan and have committed to issuing a public apology later today. Furthermore, Premier Sports will air free-to-view repeats of Cage Warriors 44 in the coming days, with times to be confirmed.

As an organisation, Cage Warriors strives to achieve the highest possible standards in every aspect of our live shows. Subsequently, we are hugely disappointed that some of our fans may have been denied the opportunity to watch last night’s action due to a problem on the part of one of our broadcast partners.

Thankfully, however, many were still able to view the event courtesy of the live streams across every major MMA website in the world. We can only hope that the majority of fans had means to tune into these streams as an alternative.
