Chavez vs. Berg at FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHTS

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Evolution Combat Sports Championship, a
fast-rising New Mexico based mixed martial arts fight organization,
announced today that MMA rising star Jennifer Berg of Denver,
Colo., will take on Albuquerque, NM fan favorite Angelica Chavez on
February 11. Berg and Chavez will face off in the Co-Main event of
the evening at “Evolution Combat Sports Championship Presents:
FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHTS! 02.11.11.” The event will take place on Friday
February 11, at the Clovis Civic Center in Clovis, New Mexico.
Sam Singleterry, co-founder of Evolution Combat Sports Championship had this to say, "We are very excited about the match-up between Chavez and Berg. These dynamic 105lb fighters were set to headline the first Jackson's MMA Series in 2010, but Chavez had to pull due to injury. Now the popular female fighters are set to face off at our “FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHTS!” event on February 11. This is definitely a fight that fans will not want to miss!”
Jennifer Berg (2-2) trains out of Jackson’s affiliate Grudge
Training Center in Denver, Colorado and is currently ranked #14 in
the women’s 105lb division according to the Women’s MMA World
Rankingsâ„¢. Berg, a very explosive striker known for finishing her
opponents quickly, is coming off of a first round TKO victory over
Lisa Jeanson. Berg plans to hand Chavez her first career loss by
ending this fight in a similar fashion, quickly and by devastating
blows.
Her opponent, local fan favorite Angelica Chavez (3-0), trains out of Chavez Martial Arts Academy in Albuquerque, NM. Chavez, who planned to go pro in Kickboxing before she jumped into the sport of MMA, has a background in Karate and is known for her exceptional striking skills. She is currently undefeated in her professional mixed martial arts career and plans to clinch her fourth consecutive win on February 11. Fans can expect an all-out slug fest when these ladies step into the cage. This promises to be an exciting fight from start to finish!
