DaMMAge Fight League: A Star is Born
Nov 29, 2010
(PRESS RELEASE) -- DaMMAge Fight League’s “The Big Bang,” was a
huge success. The event took place at the Taj Mahal Casino Hotel in
Atlantic City on Wednesday, November 24th and was broadcast live on
GoFightLive.tv.
There were ten fights on the stellar card, with the main event being a very tough fought battle between Tara LaRosa (19-2) vs. Takayo Hashi (12-3). LaRosa won the DaMMAge Fight League world title by unanimous decision over the tough Japanese fighter. The fight took place, as Tara had predicted, all of the cage and there were many submission attempts as well as furious exchanges on the feet. Hashi’s game plan was to keep the fight standing, but LaRosa rose to the challenge and out-struck the hard hitting Tokyo fighter to win the strap.
The other fights on the card were equally exciting. Chris Ligouri
improved his record to 12-8 by outpointed John Salgado in an
exciting unanimous decision. And Branden Hinkle, the “Iron Lion”
revitalized his career with a dominant performance over Kevin
Jordan. Hinkle stopped Jordan in the first round with some classic
Hammer House ground and pound to the delight of his cornerman Mark
“The Hammer” Coleman.
After the fight, Coleman entered the cage to surprise and delight fans with talk of a comeback fight, very likely to be hosted by DaMMAge fight league. Promoter Carl Mascarenhas said of Coleman, “I’d love to have him on board. He’s a great guy, he’s funny as hell, and he’s a great athlete.”
The next scheduled DaMMAge show is in February, and when Carl was asked how he plans to top this show he said, “It’s not a matter of topping, it’s staying consistent. We had such stellar performances from each one of the athletes it would be almost impossible to top something like that, but it would be great if can maintain it.”
Fight fans have come to expect a high level of competition and production values from events that Mascarenhas promotes, and it’s a sure bet that February’s show will be another big one for DaMMAge Fight League.
