Din Thomas Returns To The Cage With Fight Time Promotions

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Howard Davis Jr.’s Fight Time Promotions will end its 2011 MMA Professional Fight Season on October 7th with Fight Time 7 “The Return” of Din Thomas as the main event at the historic War Memorial Auditorium in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

The former UFC veteran (25-8) fought nine times on the UFC and was a contestant on the popular fighter reality show: The Ultimate Fighter Season 4. Din Thomas’ last three bouts ended in victories (2 TKOs and 1 submission), but it has been nearly 2 years since the exciting MMA fighter stepped into the cage.

While in the UFC Thomas faced formidable opponents such as: B.J. Penn, Matt Serra, Clay Guida and Kenny Florian.

Din received the call from his former coach and now CEO of Fight Time Promotions – Howard Davis Jr. a few weeks ago “I asked him if he wanted to be a part of our last show of the year and Din graciously accepted,” said Davis. “This is a dream for me to have him on my show and making his return with us.”

Thomas usually sits on the other side of the cage for Fight Time Promotions. He’s been the company’s co-commentator for all of its Sun-Sports televised fights since the company’s inaugural show last August.

Fight Time 7 - "The Return" is an appropriate name for the occasion as Thomas faces George Sheppard (12-6), who hails from Virginia.

Last May, Thomas was supposed to face boxing’s Nicaraguan bad boy – Ricardo Mayorga – with another MMA promoter until Don King (Mayorga’s boxing promoter) took the matter to court. A Florida judge ruled in favor of King and his request to bar Mayorga from competing in the MMA event was granted.

That entire incident left a bad taste in Thomas’ mouth, so he decided to take a break and later became Fight Time Promotions’ co-commentator. “When Howard Davis called, I was already thinking that it was time to get back in the cage,” said Thomas. “The timing was perfect and I said yes.”

Thomas, who owns an American Top Team facility in Port St. Lucie, Florida says he’s ready to give the fight fans a night that they won’t forget. Thomas celebrates his 35th birthday the week before his big return. It should make a nice gift if he can secure the victory for Fight Time 7’s “The Return”.

Expect a very entertaining and high quality fight card as with all of Howard Davis Jr.’s Fight Time Promotions’ PRO Mixed Martial Arts events.

The undercard includes well-known South Florida MMA Pro fighters: Mike Bruno, Cedric “The Killa Gorilla” James, Sam McCoy and more!
