(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Jackson’s MMA Series returns October 22nd,
2011! The Jackson’s MMA Series has become the premiere MMA fight
promotion in the Southwest and has launched multiple fighters to
the next level. Jackson’s MMA Series Veterans Johnny
Bedford and Diego
Brandao will be appearing on the upcoming season of UFC’s
Ultimate Fighter 14. In addition, multiple series fighters have
been signed to Strikeforce including Julie
Kedzie, Isaac Valle-Flagg, Lionel
Lanham and Sarah
D\'Alelio.
Jackson’s MMA Series VI will be held on October 22nd at 7:00 PM MST at the spectacular Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Albuquerque in New Mexico. A Double Main Event has been scheduled for Jackson’s MMA Series VI. Jackson’s own and Strikeforce and Dream Veteran Joey Smokin’ Villaseñor (27-9) will take on Shark Fight Vet Chuck “Rough Chuck” Parmelee (33-13-1). Villaseñor will be making his 170 Pound Welterweight debut in this showdown. Villaseñor has fought multiple elite fighters including Jacaré, Robbie Lawler, Phil Baroni and Murilo “Ninja” Rua and is one of the founding members of the Jackson/Winkeljohn Fight Team. Villaseñor brings an exceptional MMA fight game with hard striking and skilled ground work to this fight. Parmelee is a seasoned vet fighting out of Sioux City, Iowa. Parmelee has 23 KOs to his credit and is looking to take out Villaseñor. This matchup is guaranteed to be explosive!
The Double Main Event will also feature Albuquerque’s and Jackson’s own Matt Levya (7-2) taking on Team Quest Fighter Federico Lopez (5-4) fighting out Temecula, CA in a 135 pound Bantamweight. In addition to this loaded card Masanori Kanehara (17-10-5), the former 2009 Sengoku Featherweight Grand-Prix Champion, will be representing Jackson’s Fight Team and will be taking on Douglas Frey (9-7) fighting out of Colleyville, TX and representing the Fitness Fight Factory in a 135 pound Bantamweight contest. Also on the pro card and representing Team Jackson is the explosive Hunter Tucker (1-0). Hunter will be taking on Albuquerque Kickboxing Gym’s own Freddie Crosby making his Pro Debut in this 145 lbs. fight. Exciting Jackson Fighter Nick Urso (1-0) will clash with Tucson’s Freddie Lux (4-0) in 125 lbs. contest. Rounding out the pro card will be 145 lbs. matchup between Jackson’s Rich Chavez (2-5) and Las Cruces based and Three Cross BJJ product Nate Patterson (1-1).
The amateur card will feature the winners of 104.1 The Edge Fighter Challenge (EFC). This installment of the EFC will feature a representative of Team Santa Fe coached by Tait Fletcher and Henry Martinez taking on a representative from Team Albuquerque coached by John Dodson and Chad LaMoine.
