EFC AFRICA starts 2011 with a massive fight card

(PRESS RELEASE) -- For its first show of 2011, EFC AFRICA picks up
South Africa’s MMA excitement and slams it straight back at fans
for EFC AFRICA 07, the most anticipated MMA event on African
soil.
The main card bout features two fighters that have established themselves as giants, both literally and in reputation: Calven ‘The Butcher’ Robinson and Rico ‘The White Lion’ Hattingh. The Butcher (8 wins, 1 loss) tops the scales at 119kg, but will certainly have his work cut out for him when he faces Hattingh (14 wins, 2 losses), who is SA’s number 1 ranked heavyweight.
“Not since the EFC AFRICA heavyweight title fight between Norman
Wessels and Bernardo Mikixi has there been such anticipation
surrounding a fight,” says EFC AFRICA president, Cairo Howarth.
“Both Hattingh and Robinson are absolutely massive and have the
power that comes with weighing-in at the upper weight limit of EFC
AFRICA’s heaviest weight division.”
With both giants’ already top contenders, the winner of this fight will instantly move toward heavyweight title contention.
Another fight sure to give fans what they want is the welterweight clash between Nolan ‘Real Deal’ Swanepoel and Dino ‘The Lion’ Bagattin. Both fighters come from striking backgrounds but have shown incredible dedication on the mats, ensuring they can attack from all angles. According to editor in chief of Fighters Only Magazine South Africa, Dirk Steenekamp, this is the fight to watch.
