Englebrecht Adds Staff
Oct 4, 2010
(PRESS RELEASE) -- Roy Englebrecht, CEO of Roy Englebrecht
Promotions and Roy Englebrecht Events announced today that Carlos
Downey and Mel Valenzuela have joined his staff as assistant
matchmakers and that they will immediately report to Whit Haydon
Director of Fighter Relations & Matchmaker for Englebrecht's
companies.
"Even though its only October, 2011 is shaping up to be one of our busiest years yet, and we were already averaging 20 shows a year over the past four years," said Englebrecht. "As most of us know in this business, good matchmaking makes good shows, so I want to be able to continue to deliver good shows night in and night out. Both Carlos and Mel will have primary responsibilities of visiting all Southern California boxing and mixed martial arts gyms and compiling an in-depth informational listing of all pro fighters, as well as begin scouting the large number of outstanding amateur boxers we have in the Southland."
Both life long fight fans, Downey from Long Beach, holds a Master's of Science degree from Keller School of Management, and Valenzuela from Montebello, has a Bachelor's Degree from the University La Verne.
