EpiCentre Cage Fights V Slams Charlotte Next Thursday

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Fight Lab Promotions returns to Charlotte’s uptown entertainment hub, the Pavilion at EpiCentre, 210 East Trade Street, on Thursday, Oct. 14 with EpiCentre Cage Fights V; bell time is set for 7:30 p.m. The homegrown promotion’s latest event will feature eight MMA bouts, including four championship matches.

The co-main event will serve as a showcase for a pair of title fights featuring local up-and-coming fighters. In the final bout of the evening, newly minted Fight Lab Light Heavyweight Champion Brandon Beach (2-1) will square off against challenger Zach Klouse (6-3). Beach, fighting out of Shelby, NC for Team Extreme, last fought at EpiCentre Cage Fights IV when he impressively defeated Ben Perry to earn his Fight Lab belt. He faces stiff competition in Klouse, a Team Renegade veteran from Gastonia, NC who is on a two-fight win streak.

The other co-main event match-up pits Jason Lineberger (5-3) against Amos Collins (7-1) to determine a Fight Lab lightweight champion. Lineberger, fighting out of Charlotte, NC for Team Cross, will have the home-cage advantage against Combat Zone fighter Amos Collins, who travels from Myrtle Beach, SC for the bout. Both fighters were triumphant in their most recent outings.

Two more title fights are scheduled for ECF V. Jeremy Perdue (2-0) and Nick Smith (3-0) will square off to name a new Fight Lab middleweight champ, and a scrap between Michael Powell (3-0) and Tyson Harrison (1-0) will produce the next Fight Lab featherweight titleholder.

“We always try to create intriguing match-ups,” said Fight Lab Promotions President Kenny Letts. “There are some great fighters in North and South Carolina, guys who keep working hard to become well-rounded mixed martial artists. The talent is here, but it’s also important to find a balance, to make sure we’re placing these guys in exciting match-ups for the fans. That’s always our goal, and I definitely feel like we’ve done that again for this event.”

This will be Fight Lab’s fifth event at the outdoor venue, and the last one of 2010. The popular fight series continues to entertain local MMA fans with fight cards that feature regional martial artists.

Tickets for EpiCentre Cage Fights V are available online at FightLabPros.com. General admission tickets are $20 in advance online or $30 at the door on the day of the event. Fans wanting to sit closer can purchase reserved seats for $45, premium seats for $60, and cage-side seats for $100.
