(PRESS RELEASE) -- Evolution Combat Sports Championship, a
fast-rising New Mexico based mixed martial arts fight organization,
has quickly earned the respect of local fight fans and top-level
contenders throughout the Southwest. At the premier of the
organizations new “FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHTS!” series in January,
Evolution contenders were greeted by a very enthusiastic, and
nearly sold out, crowd. The promotions next event, “Evolution
Combat Sports Championship Presents: FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHTS! 02.11.11”
will take place in Clovis, New Mexico on February 11.
Martin Singleterry, president of Evolution Combat Sports Championship had this to say, "What better way to kick off 2011 than to premier our new “FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHTS!” series in front of a nearly sold out crowd in our hometown. It was amazing! You could feel the energy. The fighters responded to the crowd’s enthusiasm by delivering a night of non-stop action, complete with KO’s and text book submissions. Fans can expect a lot more where that came from in 2011. The Evolution team is pushing full steam ahead as we ramp up for our next event.”
Singleterry went on to say, “Our goal is to host one event per
month this year. It will be a mixture of our “FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHTS!”
series and our larger scale Evolution events. The two Evolution
“products” are distinct and separate from each other, but results
from both count towards fight rankings in the divisions.”
Evolution Combat Sports Championship Presents: FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHTS! 02.11.11” is stacked with compelling amateur and professional match-ups. The main event pits Amarillo fan favorite Anselmo Martinez against New Mexico’s own Jerome Martinez. Anselmo (6-3), a very explosive fighter with a history of first round knockouts, is as skilled on the ground as he is on his feet. Anselmo, who recently clinched a first round submission victory over Strikeforce veteran Tim Stout at “Evolution 1”, plans to go undefeated in Evolution Combat Sports Championship arena.
Standing in his way is skilled submission specialist Jerome Martinez (9-7). Jerome, a King of the Cage veteran, is also coming off of a first round submission victory. Both fighters are hungry for the win, but only one will raise their hand at the end of the night. Who will it be? Fight fans will find out on February 11. This is just one of many compelling match ups on the FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHTS! 02.11.11 bout card. MMA fans will not want to miss this!
