Fight Nite in the Flats V

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The region's premier MMA event set the bar even higher with this year's installment of Fight Nite in the Flats. The jam packed crowd at the Nautica Pavilion witnessed a night of NAAFS Cage Fighting that shook the very foundation of the promotion. From the opening bell of the first fight to the announcement of the main event, the emotion was at an all time high. The thing that places Fight Nite in the Flats in a separate category is that it has become more than just another 'fight show', but it has evolved into an all encompassing event that has affected the lives of many people, from the fighters to each and every fan who attends to the event.

The main event certainly lived up to billing of 'SuperFight', as five-time UFC veteran Forrest "The Meat Clever" Petz and EliteXC veteran Tiawon "The Iron Dragon" Howard delivered the quality of fight that fans would expect to headline a show like Fight Nite in the Flats V.

These two stellar athletes battled back and forth for two and half rounds, but it was Petz who was able to connect with a fury late in round three to earn the TKO victory. With the win, Forrest "The Meat Cleaver" Petz capped off a great night for himself and his Strong Style teammates, who finished 6-1 overall.

A new Pro Series Welterweight Champion was crowned when Brendan "The Caucasian Devastation" of Eastside Combat Club (17-14-1) defeated Ryan "The Lion" Madigan (5-2) of Jungle Fight Team/Evolve MMA by Tapout from Strikes in the first round. The Michigan native entered hostile territory with a specific gameplan and was able to execute to perfection. The fight began with a back and forth exchange on the feet, but once Seguin was able to take it to the ground, he took complete control. He avoided Madigan's jiu-jitsu game by pushing the pressure and connecting with unanswered shots that forced Madigan to tap out.
