Fight Promoter University Update

BOXING AND MIXED MARTIAL ARTS ARE TEAM SPORTS FIND OUT WHY AS FIGHT PROMOTER UNIVERSITY III ANNOUNCES SUPER TEAM DISCOUNT OFFER!

Though boxing and mixed martial arts are loved by millions because of the one-on-one nature of the combat, putting on a successful promotion in either sport is far from an individual pursuit.

In fact, it takes a well-schooled team to truly succeed in this business, and Roy Englebrecht’s highly acclaimed Fight Promoter University series will address this fact for Session III of the course by now offering a special Super Team Discount.

With this new program, a two or three person promotional team can enroll in FPU III at an unbelievable discount, with the first enrollee paying the full tuition of $1,995, the second person paying $750, and a third just $500.

“I really think that putting together a good team for your fight promotions company, whether it is family or close friends, makes a lot of sense,” says Roy Englebrecht, Fight Promoter University founder and the promoter of the ‘Battle In The Ballroom’ series at the Irvine Marriott in Southern California – the longest running show in the sport’s history (entering it’s 23rd year in 2007). “At the first two FPU sessions, several teams attended, plus some students who met for the first time at FPU have become partners. I want as many fight promotion companies to succeed in 2007, and the more I can make it affordable for new promoters, so much the better".

Increasing from three days to five days, FPU III will take place at the Irvine Marriott in Southern California from March 30th to April 3rd. Following a newly added Gala Opening Night Dinner, students will have the opportunity to attend 17 different classroom sessions, the largest ever, with new sessions being offered in MMA Matchmaking, Working with Indian Casinos, and Learning from Rookie Promoters. Already committed to appear as guest speakers for FPU III are: Hall of Fame promoter and matchmaker Don Chargin, top fight attorney Steven Espinoza, MMA matchmaker from No Limits Colin Oyama, former Miller Beer Hispanic marketing executive Loretta Lucero, Fightnews.com Publisher Karl Freitag, and Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer. Others tentatively scheduled to speak include Michael Buffer, Patrick Ortiz, Sherdog.com editor Jeff Sherwood, and MMA pioneer Scott Coker. Plus, new speakers are being added almost weekly.

But when the education in the classroom is done, that’s when the real work begins, as students will get the chance to work on not just one, but two distinct fight promotions, as Sunday, April 1st will premiere the ‘Battle in The Ballroom’s first MMA show, and Monday, April 2nd will feature the world-famous boxing version of ‘Battle in The Ballroom’. Students will learn how both shows are set up and operated, and will also be assigned specific duties on fight night, giving a true insider’s look into how a successful promotion is run.

Since Fight Promoter University’s launch in 2006, 70 students from 27 states, Canada and Peru have learned from the best in the business, and previous FPU graduates are already promoting boxing or MMA shows in Oregon, Northern California, Indiana, Nevada, Southern California, and New Jersey.
