Fighters make weight for PFC 8

May 8, 2008
LEMOORE, Ca. - All the fighters made weight at Wednesday's weighins for Palace Fighting Championship 8 "A Night of Champions", which will be held Thursday at the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino.

Highlighting the action-packed 12-bout card is four title fights.

PFC World Middleweight champ Kenny Ento (Pictures) of Visalia will take on unbeaten Nate Loughran (Pictures) of Santa Rosa.

"Nate is undefeated and a good wrestler. Hopefully it will be a quick fight in my favor," said Ento, who carries a 9-3 record and will be defending his title for the first time. "I think that Nate kind of fights a lot like I do."

Loughran (7-0) agrees.

"I think that we kind of fight the same," Loughran said. "We both utilize technique instead of strength. I know that he probably has some reach on me. I think that it's an exciting fight, though. I like the idea of fighting for the belt, because if you're the champion then everyone wants to fight you."

In the main event, Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran and current PFC World Lightweight champ Diego Saraiva (Pictures) of Atlanta will take on Gladiator Challenge Lightweight champion Brian Cobb (Pictures) (11-4) of Bakersfield.

"I really don't feel like I'm a challenger in this fight," Cobb said. "I have a belt of my own in another organization. I feel like this is two champions battling it out."

Cobb is on a 5-fight win streak and most recently defeated Roseville's Gigo Jara (Pictures) (5-7) in September by submission in 3:05 of the first round.

"I don't know anything about him," said Saraiva, who is 11-6-1 and collected his second belt with a submission win over Joe Ammerman (2-1) at an American Fight League event in March.

"It's going to be a war for five rounds. I know that he looks strong, but I'm looking at this fight going all five rounds," Saraiva added.

In the two other title fights, Oakdale PFC World Featherweight champ Art Arciniega (Pictures) (61) takes on Fresno's Jorg Evangelista (6-2-1) and Porterville's Shawn Klarcyk (Pictures) (7-2) will fight Oregon's Jason Georgianna (Pictures) (7-2) for the interim bantamweight championship.
