First Women's Convention Honors Industry Elite

Nov 4, 2008
GFIGHT, the all women promotion headed up by HOOKnSHOOT's Jeff Osborne, has made plans for a week long convention for the women of MMA. An amateur MMA event, a pro MMA event, seminars, free training, a proposed women's MMA magazine and much more.

What more could the women ask for.....RESPECT and RECOGNITION!

It's been a LONG time coming ladies. Up until a year or two ago, we were lucky to get news on a women's fight once or twice a month. Now it seems there are a dozens of women's fights every month which brings us to a crossroads.

Women's MMA is now recognized now more than any point in history, women's champions have been crowned with little or no fanfare, women are delivering the best fights on shows across the world so what gives?

Still they're overshadowed by shaved-headed, OVER-tattooed, drunken men with funny colored hair and goatees, wearing camo shorts. PLEASE!

It's time we recognize the women of MMA and we start at the GFIGHT SUMMIT in January!

GFIGHT is proud to announce the 2009 Year End Awards. The women will be acknowledged for their hard work, achievements and outstanding performances from 2008 (11/15/07 to 11/15/08).

We ask for nominations in the following categories:

MOST PROMISSING FIGHTER: Who did you see this year who made you say "that chic is going to be something." With a year or two of training, who's going to be on top!

BEST SUBMISSION: One of the simpler awards but still needs recognition. Send nominations with YouTube links or back it up with a video.

BEST KNOCKOUT: This one speaks for itself. Same as the above.

MATCH OF THE YEAR: Who stole the show, turned some heads and had you raving about their performance for days after. It takes two to have a great fight....who were they.

FIGHTER OF THE YEAR: The single best in ring performer of the year!
