GC Invades New Mexico

Gladiator Challenge Invades New Mexico with a multi-fight deal with American General Media Group! The largest MMA organization in Northern California has just become the largest MMA organization in the Southwest.

In addition to the two year contract with the American General Media Group, Gladiator Challenge has purchased the New Mexico Based Desert Xtreme for an undisclosed amount of money, including all footage and video rights. Desert Xtreme has promoted 8 events in New Mexico in the last year, and a total of 23 MMA events since June 2004. In the agreement all employees will come with the deal, all fighter contracts will be honored, and all current venue commitments will be completed.

"The title wave of success in the MMA community has made it possible for a promotion company as large as Gladiator Challenge to expand its market on a global level, and acquiring successful regional shows such as Desert Xtreme allows me to capture that market without disrupting the flow of the wave. With this purchase I have gained two entire states, New Mexico and Texas, without having to develop a new pool of talent to do so. Desert Xtreme is the premier event in that region and has the infrastructure to make it cost effective to purchase them rather than start from scratch."

Desert Xtreme was the brain child of Jim Burleson who says about the purchase, "Due to the popularity of the sport and the growing interest in the southwest region, containing New Mexico and Texas and the ever increasing involvement at the corporate level larger venues can be filled, and greater events can be funded. These Corporate Sponsors and Casino's are looking for an international brand and that is what Gladiator Challenge is. Tedd Williams (Pictures) (owner of Gladiator Challenge) came to me and told me his vision of the future of his company in the sport of MMA and I bought into it whole heartedly. He made me an offer I couldn't refuse. For a company like Gladiator Challenge to see the value of the promotion I have created it is a huge boost to my ego, and with the support network they have built over the last 7 or 8 years I just hope the world is ready for the whirlwind of growth planned for the region."

Burleson made his fortune in the wholesale distribution industry providing mass retail chains with products and it is here that Burleson say's his talents will be best directed again. In the deal Burleson has gained the distribution rights of the Gladiator Challenge brand. "There are 70 or so shows that have never been distributed into the MMA world just waiting for distribution. Fighters like Quinton Jackson (Pictures), Joe Stevenson (Pictures), Nate Quarry, and Dan Severn (Pictures) all in the early days. People want to see those fights. Rashad Evans (Pictures) in the early days back when he was training with Dan Severn (Pictures). Urijah Faber (Pictures) back before MSNBC. Chances are if you seen these guys on mainstream TV they fought in Gladiator Challenge and now I got the DVD's in my hand to prove it. Tedd is a genius. And buying me out of the promotion business and bringing my company to distribute his products proves it."

Gladiator Challenge has three TV deals for free TV in the US going on right now with 11 million viewers per week seeing these shows. And with the addition of the Newest Region, the Southwest, the heart of the MMA world, Gladiator Challenge will be a huge force to recon with.
