GFL proudly introduces SUMO wrestling and the Annual US sumo open to its line-up of high action combat sports

(PRESS RELEASE) -- This weekend at the Riviera Hotel & Casino, Las
Vegas, Nevada – Will host the 11th Annual 2011 US Sumo Open on
Saturday, June 25, in conjunction with “USA World Championships", a
long-established and respected martial arts event. Total attendance
throughout the martial arts weekend is expected to top 20,000
people, and the US Sumo Open is one of the most anticipated
highlight of the annual gathering.
The heavy favorite to follow is BYAMBA (a 6'1", 340 lb 26 year old). Prior to winning his three World Champion titles, Byamba spent five years in pro sumo, and was on pace to rapidly advance to the highest division, before he left to compete overseas. This will be his 5th consecutive US Sumo Open, and he is gunning for his 5th year of gold medals in a row!

Friday, June 24, 2011 - US National Sumo Championships (4-8 PM PT) featuring US athletes only, as they vie for the US Sumo Champion title, and a chance to compete at the World Sumo Championships! This will not be live but Tape delayed the following day or June 25 starting at 8pm ET.
Saturday, June 25, 2011 - 11th annual – 2011 US Sumo Open 12-4 PM PT (finals 7 PM PT) highlighting international sumo competitors from around the world, including many athletes with National and World Sumo Champion titles! Will air the following day, June 26 at 8:00pm ET.
