GIDEON RAY ADDED TO SHINE 2: AMERICAN TOP TEAM VS. THE WORLD

(PRESS RELEASE) -- UFC veteran, Gideon Ray has
been added to what is now the most phenomenal card to ever hit
Miami, Shine 2. As a member of the American Top Team, Aurelio joins
his fighting family on the card, which is appropriately sub-titled,
‘American Top Team vs. The World.’
Beginning his career in 2000 where he started off on a 5-fight win streak. After compiling an impressive reputation for exciting wins on the smaller show circuit, Ray fought some of the toughest competitors in the world. From David Loiseau and Jason Black, to Mike Swick and John Alessio, Ray has faced mixed martial arts toughest competitors.
Ray entered the UFC in 2005 against David
Loiseau at UFC 51 appropriately titled Super Saturday and again
for a UFC Fight night where he faced Mike Swick.
After that one appearance Ray bounced around the smaller show
circuit eventually landing on season 4 of The Ultimate Fighter:
Comeback. This season placed UFC veterans in the house to battle it
out for a return to the UFC. Ray fought for the last time in the
organization against Charles
McCarthy before entering the now defunct International Fight
League.
With his last two fights resulting in a loss, Ray is ready to get back into the winner circle and the bigger spotlight and has entered South Florida’s premiere MMA show, Shine.
His opponent is none other than fellow UFC veteran veteran, Junior Assuncao. Currently on a two-fight win streak, Assuncao is 8-4 with 5 of his wins coming by submission. With Ray at 15-10 with 8 KO and 7 submission victories this will be a battle not to be missed.
