Century Teams Up with MMA Champion Matt Hughes (Pictures)
OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA, 2007 - Century, LLC, the world's largest martial art supplier, signed a 2-year sponsorship and merchandising agreement with MMA champion Matt Hughes (Pictures).
In accordance with the agreements, Hughes will wear Century branded gear during all fights and other personal appearances. Century will also develop a line of high-quality co-branded Matt Hughes (Pictures) products to be sold around the world. This apparel line will feature the Matt Hughes (Pictures) and Century logos and will be personally approved by Hughes.
Following the signing of the agreement, Matt Hughes (Pictures) commented, "I have found Century Martial Arts Supply to be the most innovative and progressive martial arts company in the world and I am excited to have the opportunity to be the first MMA fighter to join the Century team of professional athletes."
Matt Hughes (Pictures) is a 9-time World Welterweight champion of the UFC®. With a record of 42-5, he has traveled the world and has become one of the world's most widely recognized mixed martial art fighters.
After the signing, Dan Bower, Century President, said, " We have worked with Matt previously on his DVD-'The Matt Hughes (Pictures) Story,' and felt he was the perfect spokesperson to represent Century. His morals and values are consistent with those of our company."
Matt Hughes (Pictures) is currently the head coach on the popular TV series, The Ultimate Fighter 6, opposite Matt Serra (Pictures). Hughes previously participated in the show as a guest coach with training partner Jens Pulver (Pictures) in The Ultimate Fighter 5 and was also a head coach on The Ultimate Fighter 2.
