Ironheart Crown
Rockstar Energy Drink and Tapout Sportswear are proud to announce
the network debut of the Ironheart Crown this month on Comcast
SportsNet Chicago. The professional mixed martial arts show will
air on Sunday, October 22nd at 11 00 PM and again on Monday,
October 30th at 9 00 PM. This will be the first time ever that the
network has featured the sport of mixed martial arts on primetime
television.
The Ironheart Crown is renowned for featuring top local, national, and international talent in action-packed bouts, and this show is no exception. At the top of the card, local hero and Pan-American Shooto Featherweight division Champion, Miguel Angel Torres will defend his title against Canada's top contender, Richard "the Monkey" Nancoo. In another top-tier bout, world-ranked Shooto Lightweight contender Joao Herdy of Indianapolis will face his toughest challenge to date in the form of Joe Voisin of Detroit.
Since its inception in 1999, the Ironheart Crown has grown to become the premiere venue for mixed martial arts competition in the Midwestern United States. The show was one of the initial stages for many of today's top professional fighters, including Shonie "Mr. International" Carter, Stephan "American Psycho" Bonnar, Jeff "the Snowman" Monson, Thiago "Pitbull" Alves, and many others.
The Ironheart Crown has also become the top American venue for mixed martial arts competition under the "Shooto" banner. Japan's International Shooto Commission (ISC) was established in 1986, making it the oldest mixed martial arts sanctioning body in the world today. The ISC is also the world's largest mixed martial arts organization, sanctioning nearly a hundred events annually in 17 countries throughout the world.
Don't miss the action on Sunday, October 22 at 11 00 PM and again on Monday, October 30 at 9 00 PM, when the Ironheart Crown hits the airwaves. You will not find a finer showcase of athleticism and fighting skill, featuring top international talent.
