Jackson’s Fighter Buddy Roberts to Face Strikeforce Veteran at Jackson’s MMA Series V

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Jackson’s MMA Series returns on July 9th,
2011! The Jackson’s MMA Series has become the premiere MMA
promotion in the Southwest. Jackson’s MMA Series V will be held on
July 9th at the spectacular Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Albuquerque,
NM. The fight card will feature Jackson’s own current WFO Light
Heavyweight Champion Buddy Roberts against Strikeforce Veteran and
current Rage in the Cage (AZ) Champion Matt “Luke Duke” Lucas in an
explosive Light Heavyweight 205 pound Main Event.
Jackson Fighter Buddy Roberts (10-2) is an explosive up and coming all around MMA fighter who is comfortable striking and grappling. Buddy is making people notice while riding a four fight win streak into this match up. He is 9-1 in his last 10 fights and is looking to add another win. Buddy’s opponent in this Main Event match up is Matt “Luke Duke” Lucas (14-2). Matt hails from Arizona Combat Sports and has a five fight win streak of his own. 4 of Matt’s last 5 fights have ended via KO or TKO and he brings multiple fighting titles and experience to this fight. Matt is looking to take out Buddy anyway he can!
The Co-Main Event features Jackson’s own Henry Martinez (5-1) taking on Wanderlei Silva Wand Fight Team Member Dave “The Pain Train” Mazany (6-3) in a 155 pound contest. Martinez is an accomplished collegiate athlete who wrestled for the University of Oklahoma and has developed into an all around MMA fighter. Mazany is a former standout track and hockey college athlete. He’s a Gracie Barra Jiu-Jitsu Purple Belt and devastating striker. This matchup features fighters from two of the world’s top MMA camps: Jackson’s MMA and Wand Fight Team.
Also on the pro card and representing Team Jackson is former National Freestyle Wrestling champion and USA National Wrestling Team member Willie Parks (3-0) who will be taking on Brad Peterson (4-3) in 185 pound fight. Rounding out the pro card are Jackson’s own Travis Marx (16-3) vs. Jackson’s MMA Series Vet Ray Robinson (6-9) at 135 pounds and Jackson’s Fighter Clint Roberts (1-1) facing off against Ryan Kelly (6-1) in a 170 pound match. There will also be five amateur fights featured on the card as well.
