(PRESS RELEASE) -- Dream featherweight prospect Kazuyuki Miyata today spoke out about his
experiences of the earthquake and tsunami, and offered his outreaching
support to those involved. Although Miyata's family are safe and
well, his parents are very close to the 100km radius in Fukushima and
he is aware that threats continue to this day.
The Japanese star who was recently signed by Nike was directly affected by the disaster but is focused on his return to competition and to helping rebuild wherever he can.
“It's best I continue with the work via my gyms, to be business as usual, which provides a service for the adults and children, training to keep them strong, healthy, and focused.” – Kazuyuki Miyata
Miyata remains one of the true enigmas to come from the Japanese mma scene as the former Olympian has impressed fans the world over with his unique blend of explosive wrestling and ferocious competitive drive.
“In regards to myself, I have made quite a name here in Japan, and now I hope to take that to the global arena via competing internationally. I always enter the sporting arena with my determination to perform to the best of my ability, for myself, family, students, and fans, and shall continue to do the same.” – Kazuyuki Miyata
