Karolis Liukaitis became the Champion of the "Real Fights"
(PRESS RELEASE) -- On the 21st of March, in Vilnius, at the club
Forum Palace the "Real Fights 5" tournament took place. It was the
first MMA tournament in a cage held in the capital of the
Lithuania.
Before the "Real Fights" at the same cage Muaythai tournament took place. It was the first Muaythai competition in Lithuania held in a cage.
"Real Fights" tournament had been started by lightweight (up to 66 kg) fighters. Donatas Karlonas and Karim Muradov from Vilnius fought. After the hard fight D. Karlonas took the victory by the painful action in the second round.
The second fight was the first 84 kg category semi-final. Here met Tomas Pakutinskas from Taurage (he replaced R.Agrba) and Tadas Levickas from Vilnius. Boxing is the main style of both the fighters, so the stance fight has been waited. But it was very short, as T. Levickas inadvertently jabbed with his thumb into the opponent's eye and the fight had been interrupted. T. Levickas had been announced the winner.
In the second semi-final Karolis Liukaitis from Kaunas and Kastytis Stankevicius from Utena met. It was the shortest fight of the evening. Fighters grappled immediately after the gong. Liukaitis after the throw occurred on the top and by strikes made Stankevicius to surrender.
Further two reencounters of 76 kg weight category took place. Ernestas Dapkus (Siauliai) fought against Edvardas Norkeliunas (Kaunas). Norkeliunas being a better wrestler used his advantage on the floor against the boxer Dapkus and won with the painful action.
In another fight on the MMA stage debut Viktoras Tomasevicius "Bandito" from Vilnius. His opponent was Vaidas Valancius (Kaunas). Avoiding fight on the floor Valancius excellently defended from Tomasevicius attempts to switch to the floor fight. Finally in the second round during one Tomasevicius attempt to grip Valancius by legs, the latter met him with leg strike to the head. Slaphappy Tomasevicius could not defence any more, so the fight had been interrupted.
And finally there goes the welcomed 84 kg weight category final for the Champion belt. K. Liukaitis vs. T. Levickas. Liukaitis dominated from the beginning of the fight both in the stance and on the floor. Already in the first round he used his advantage and by strangulation made the opponent to surrender. Karolis Liukaitis the "Real Fights" middleweight category Champion!
